With the earth population over 7.5 billion and still growing, highly developed economics with small habitable land are facing population density issues and urging for solutions.

The Diminuz|one is a customisable wall that concentrate on transforming ordinary living room objects in order to achieve space maximisation while also featured a motion-detect electromagnetic paint for unlimited possibilities.

Ideation

As human become more and more populated and urbanised, many people have moved to major cities to seek education advantages and job opportunities. While we enjoy the convenience of the urbanisation, issues such as overpopulation where the city exceeded its limits in accommodating people could result in poor living conditions especially among marginalised groups.

Over 60% of world population are living in urban area by 2020

With the ideal living space of 40㎡ per person in a city, many people are living inadequately under the minimum of 20㎡, especially in more developed regions. In order to maintain the quality of live within narrow spaces, we want to minimise the space occupied by necessary objects, furniture and create an alternative solution to organisation storage.

The users can select different units based on their needs from multiple categories such as desk, chair, ambient lighting, task lighting, PA system, storage and vase in various shapes, colours, sizes and materials into a formation of their liking.

Furthermore, all of the units are equipped with built-in sensor technology which is based on the research of Wall++ by Disney Research and Carnegie Mellon University where they applied conductive paint in a geometric pattern connected with antennas to capture gestures and electromagnetic noise from a distance which could sense interactions and analysis data to create a personalised experience.

Concept

The Diminuz|one can be constructed upon existing wall or build from ground up by installing steel frame

Each individual units are connected by docks with electrical wires and sensors inserted.
